Spring Fling

Spring Fling

Marin Pugh

Hello Ponder Junior High!! If you haven’t heard, this year we will be having a school dance! After much consideration, the Student Council has decided to name the dance the Spring Fling.  Unfortunately, the dance was canceled last year as a precaution due to the COVID pandemic, so it’s pretty exciting that it will be hosted this year!

You may have heard that the dance is being called the February Fling, and that was the original plan. However, it has been decided that the name shall be changed. The Spring Fling  will commence on Friday, February 25th, 2022. The dance will begin at 6:30 p.m. and will end around 9:30 p.m. after school in the PJH Cafeteria. Be prepared! There will be a five-dollar ($5) entry fee, and make sure to bring extra cash for snacks, pictures, and other cool things! I know you’re probably thinking, “Man, I have to pay  for this stuff?!” We apologize for the inconvenience, but this event is actually a fundraiser for Ponder Junior High!

Now, you may be wondering what to wear for this dance. You can wear anything as long as it follows the School Dress Code, and no, you don’t have to dress fancy or anything. Oh, and don’t  let the term “dance” fool you, you aren’t exactly expected to dance. The dance will include games to help you pass the time if you don’t feel like dancing.

Only Ponder Junior High students are allowed to attend the dance. This means that students attending Ponder Elementary or High School are not allowed to come. Basically, anybody that doesn’t attend PJH as a student will not be permitted to attend the dance. Exceptions are made for parent/staff volunteers. If you do not come to school the day of the dance, you will not be allowed to enter the dance after school. So if you wish to go to the dance, make sure to be at school the day of!

Here’s another important note; if you leave the campus during the dance, you will not be permitted back into the school. So, you cannot walk to the park or anything and re-enter the school after paying and going inside.

More information will be shared in the morning announcements as the dance draws nearer. If you have any other questions, please ask a Student Council member! More information is posted on the school website as well. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and have an amazing day!
