8th Grade vs. Boyd

8th Grade vs. Boyd

Kennedy Michell Day

Our football teams traveled to Boyd to face the Yellowjackets. 8th grade lost 46-0. Coach feels like the offense had a little more of a difficult time finding something to work on Boyd’s 8th Grade defense. Boyd was just very strong across their defense and had bigger, more aggressive kids.

Gage Ersch did a good job of moving around in the pocket and throwing some good passes. Noah Long did a solid job blocking, but Boyd’s defense was solid up front and at all levels. Our defense was able to slow down Boyd’s offense a little bit.

Defensively, Noah Long played a strong game, he is physical and tackles well. Jack Thompson and Terrize Mills made some good plays. Terrize came up and made several solid stops. Lincoln Perkins came up and made some good tackles. Austin Erickson and Cayson Boyd created some nice pressure up front, in the defensive line.

In the return game, Tryston Williams had some really nice kick returns during the game.

Hopefully, the boys will benefit from the weight training over the next few years and end up being really solid ball players. They will be back in action for Brock next week at home. They’ll just need to get back in the weight room tomorrow and work hard on the practice field over the next week to continue to develop our players and get better as we move further along in the season.

Thank you to Coach Ryan for your time to answer the questions asked, the cheerleaders for supporting the boys all throughout the game, and the 7th-grade football boys for cheering along with the cheerleaders to support the 8th graders. Good luck next week at home vs. Brock. Go Big Red.
