The Ponder 7th grade junior high started their season with a great win. 40 – 16!

Mason jones and Cooper Sweeden, ran the offenses in great way. Both threw touchdown passes to a variety of wide receivers. Chase Conner, Kannon Clark, Deven Moreno all scored through the air.

They were pretty balanced with a strong running game, especially with Caden Murphy. He probably was close to or had over 100 yards rushing for the game.

The offensive line did a great job as well, protecting the quarterback in the passing an opening running lane in the A & B gaps and outside on the perimeter.

They were also able to roll in different groups of wide receivers successfully throughout the game which for the first game with 7th graders is really exciting!

The defense held up their end of bargain by limiting Nocona to 2 rushing touchdowns. For the most part, they tackled extremely well. Morgan Story #55 played very well, also Deven Moreno made a lot of great plays and tackles from his linebacker spot. Trey Lopez played very hard and made some nice defensive plays.

The special team looked great. The kickoffs return game was solid as well.
