It may seem like something small, or stupid. And maybe it is, for oblivion is inevitable. We will all be forgotten. But that does not mean that my, or your fear, is irrelevant. Oblivion is the fear of being forgotten, and yes, it was inspired by The Fault In Our Stars. But when you sit down and read that book, it really gives you a perspective of how others see the world. I, personally, think that society could definitely be improved, but my opinion isn’t exactly relevant. And I do doubt that it will be noticed. Furthermore, not all of us are unencumbered. Alas, we all have petty grudges, and things that we are not comfortable talking about, because we know that it is an unpopular opinion. That is why I, personally, fear oblivion. I always feel as though I will not leave a deep enough scar on the earth’s mind, on anyone’s mind, that I will be completely and utterly forgotten. Not a trace of me. Although, I know that it will happen eventually, I will be lost, gone, never to be heard of and or spoken of again. That is why I fear oblivion. I WANT to be in the history books in the future, I WANT to be remembered, but even the greatest of people have articles in wikipedia. And that is pretty low.
