8th Grade Girls Track Meet #1

We had the opportunity this past Monday, February 24 track kicked off the season.


In discus Kailey Hurst placed 3rd with a distance of 64 feet and Kennedy Roberts taking 4th place with a distance of 60 feet.In the shot, Kailey Hurst placed 3rd with a distance of 30’9 feet. In pole vault Kaelyn McWilliams placed 3rd with a height of 5’6 feet, Sawyer Wilkinson placed 4th with a height of 5’6 as well and for the win Bergan Moser with 2nd place. Congrats to all girls that shot and threw the discus and great job to our hard working pole vaulters. Work hard and keep on doing great.


Kaelyn McWilliams ran the 400m run, she ran it in 1 minute and 14 seconds and placed 4th just 6 seconds behind 1st place and got Ponder 4 points. The 200m was ran by Philomena Klotz. She placed 3rd, her time was 31.35 seconds and she gave Ponder 6 points.


In 8th grade in the High Jump event was jumped by Ava Larson which she placed 5th and her height was 4’ 2. Overall Ava Larson gave us 1 point.


The eighth grade girls in the 100 hurdles did great. Emylie Baumann got 3rd place with a 20.67 second run. Sawyer Wilkinson got 6th place with a run of 21.11 seconds. Overall they gained us 7 points, Emylie with 6 points, and Sawyer with one.


The Eighth Grade girls had an amazing time and placed great for the 300 Hurdles on Monday night. Grace Simmons got a time of 58.25 seconds and got a 1st place medal. Ava Larson got a time of 1:05.33, 7.06 seconds behind Grace Simmons getting a 5th place ribbon. Grace got 10 points and Ava got 2 making a total of 12 points gained. 


For the 8th grade girls in the 1600, Ava Larson placed in 6th with a time of 7:12.85 and gave us 1 point.


For the 8th grade girls in the 2400, Patricia Gallardo placed in 5th place with a time of 11:22 and gave us 2 points. 


Congratulations to all the girls who participated in this first meet, y’all did great for the first meet. There is always a next time if you did not place this first one. Remember to always stay positive!
